Why HCZ25 - Ava’s Story

Introducing Ava. Ava is our 3rd child. She was a surprise on multiple fronts. I will be honest; it was a dark few months' processing the reality of a late in life pregnancy and then finding out that she had Down Syndrome. But God is good and comforted and assured me that everything would be alright.

A vision began to develop in my mind. It was a vision of hope and a vision of sharing my journey with others that have experienced or will experience this journey. To be there to answer some of the thousand and one questions and to try and lessen their fears and give them hope.  So here we are in 2026, we were licensed as an Alabama non-profit Corporation and launched our program in 2024, and we completed an amazing first full year of operation in 2025. We’re very excited about the many possibilities and anxious to see just what the Lord has in store for HCZ25 and the families, children and people we meet along the way. I could not imagine my life without Ava, she completes a perfect circle that include my husband Trey and our two other beautiful daughters, Savannah and Lillie
